Texas is a state with endless amounts of things to do. You can spend weeks there and still won’t have seen it all, so it’s important to make sure you choose right when deciding on what you want to do while you’re visiting. Here are a few of the top spots to check out on your next trip.
Go to the State Fair
Dallas is home to the Texas state fair, which starts in September and goes through the end of October each year. It’s such a big event that many schools even give students a day off to go to it. There are rides and games, but many people go to enjoy the endless amount of fried food available for purchase. Be sure to check out the other sites in Dallas while you’re in the area, and if the fried food starts to get to be too much for you, consider trying something lighter, such as a crab restaurant Plano.
Visit the Alamo
The Mission Alamo is where the Battle of the Alamo took place and is now a popular tourist destination. While this is one of the main reasons people go to visit the city, it’s not the only thing to see there. San Antonio is also home to the Riverwalk, Six Flags and Sea World.
See the State Capitol
The State Capitol is located in Austin, which is known for being one of the most interesting cities in Texas. After seeing the Capitol, you can spend your day hiking and biking some beautiful trails before heading to Sixth Street, which offers the best of the Austin night life scene.
Texas is a place you’ll want to visit over and over again, so don’t worry if you can’t get everything done in one trip. After all, everything is bigger in Texas, so it does take more time to see.
