A 5-day Dubai stay planned around a hair transplant, day by day

Five days is often enough for a hair transplant trip to Dubai. That gives you a day to arrive and meet the surgeon, a day for the procedure, and time to rest before flying. The plan below is only an example, and your clinic sets the real schedule.

Here is how the days might run, where to stay, and how to see a little of Dubai while protecting your new grafts.

Why plan five days?

The procedure itself takes a single day, and many clinics are happy for patients to fly a day or two later. Five days adds a buffer at each end.

You arrive with time to settle and have a day for a check-up or first wash. You are also not racing to the airport the morning after surgery. If your surgeon wants you to stay longer, follow that advice.

The trip does not cover the healing, which carries on at home. The new hairs often fall out within weeks, regrowth usually begins at about three months, and the final look arrives at around a year.

What should you arrange before you arrive?

A little preparation makes the five days run smoothly.

  • Confirm the schedule in writing. Share your flight times with the clinic and ask for the consultation and procedure times.
  • Ask for preparation instructions. Your clinic will tell you what to do, and what to avoid, in the days before the procedure.
  • Share your health details. Tell the clinic about any medical conditions and anything you take regularly, so the surgeon can plan safely.
  • Arrange airport transfers. A pre-booked car on Day 1 and Day 5 means no queues and no lifting bags at the taxi rank.
  • Pack for the climate. Light, loose button-up shirts suit both Dubai’s heat and the days after the procedure.

What happens on each day?

Here is one way the stay could run. Use it as a starting point for planning with your clinic.

  • Day 1: arrive and consult. Land early if you can, check in, then attend the consultation. The surgeon examines your donor area, agrees the plan and explains how to prepare.
  • Day 2: the procedure. Set the whole day aside. It takes place under local anaesthesia, and most patients find it mildly uncomfortable, with little or no pain.
  • Day 3: check-up or first wash. Depending on the clinic, this may be a check of the grafts, a first wash at the clinic, or both. Follow whatever your clinic advises.
  • Day 4: gentle rest. Sleep in, stay cool and keep plans light. If you feel up to it, try an hour or two of shaded or indoor sightseeing.
  • Day 5: fly home. Pack calmly, keep your aftercare kit in your hand luggage and leave plenty of time at the airport.

On the evening of Day 2, go straight back to your room. Order in, rest and have an early night.

“I would rather a patient arrives with time to spare than rushes in from the airport. A calm consultation, a good night’s sleep before the procedure and a few quiet days afterwards make the whole trip easier.”

Where should you stay?

As close to the clinic as you can. Alborj Hair Clinic is in Mazaya Centre, Al Wasl, so a hotel or serviced apartment nearby keeps every journey short.

Short trips matter most on Days 2 and 3, when you want to get back to your room quickly. Taxis are easy to find in Dubai, and a short ride is far easier than a long one across the city.

  • Strong air-conditioning and blackout curtains, as you will spend more time indoors than on a usual holiday.
  • Extra pillows, because many clinics advise sleeping with the head raised for the first few nights.
  • Room service or easy food delivery, so the evening after the procedure needs no going out.

How do you keep out of the sun?

Dubai’s sun is strong for much of the year, and a freshly treated scalp has little hair to shield it. Many clinics advise keeping direct sun off the treated area for the first few weeks, but follow your own surgeon’s guidance.

  • Plan any time outdoors for early morning or after sunset.
  • Travel between air-conditioned places by taxi rather than walking in the midday heat.
  • Keep to the shaded side of streets and walkways.
  • Only wear a hat once your surgeon says it is fine, and choose one that sits loosely.
  • Carry water and sip it through the day.

What can you do on the rest days?

Keep it gentle. The goal is to rest your scalp, not to tick off a list of sights.

  • Indoor sightseeing. Air-conditioned malls, galleries and museums suit a slow hour or two.
  • Evening strolls. Waterfront walks are far more pleasant once the sun has set.
  • Simple meals out. Choose places near your hotel, and avoid crowds where you might be jostled.

Some things are better saved for a future trip. Many clinics advise keeping out of pools and the sea, and away from the gym, for the first weeks.

Desert drives and theme park rides can wait too. Your surgeon will tell you when each activity is safe again.
